HEALTH, SAFETY, AND SECURITY WILL BE IMPROVED

Improvements prioritize the health, safety, and security of students and staff.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE WILL BE MAINTAINED
Enhancements to the learning environment, including classrooms, labs, and other educational spaces, will facilitate improved programming and protect the District’s high level of academic excellence.

PROGRAMMING WILL BE MOVED OUT OF HALLWAYS
Instructional space is so limited at District 64’s elementary schools that reading and math interventionists and other support professionals are using hallways when assisting students.

ADA ACCESSIBILITY WILL BE ENHANCED
Improvements will enhance ADA accessibility at all schools for students, staff, and visitors.

PROPERTY VALUES WILL BE PROTECTED
Maintaining a strong school district helps protect property values and keeps District 64 competitive with peer districts.

TAXPAYER DOLLARS WILL BE SAVED
Addressing mechanical, plumbing, and infrastructure needs now will save taxpayer dollars by reducing costly and disruptive emergency repairs, improving energy efficiency, and extending the useful life of existing facilities.

EVERY STUDENT AND SCHOOL WILL BENEFIT
Essential upgrades will be addressed at all seven District 64 schools.

QUALITY TEACHERS WILL BE ATTRACTED AND RETAINED
Improving the condition of our schools and enabling enhanced programming will attract and retain quality teachers, which is vital given the state and national teacher shortage.

PROJECT COSTS WILL BE KEPT LOW BY ACTING NOW

Due to construction inflation and growing emergency repairs, waiting to make the proposed improvements will significantly increase the total cost.

DISTRICT 64 LISTENED AND DOWNSIZED THE PROPOSAL
After many months of public input, District 64 downsized the bond referendum to $89.1 million. This is tens of millions of dollars less than what was originally considered.
